چکیده

This paper develops the Control Model (CM) methodology for re-design of manufacturing companies and their logistic systems. The CM methodology aims to design logistic systems for mass customisation and focus on; products and market requirements, material flow, control areas, control principles, supplierand customer-related processes, and information flow. The main design principles are; • to design control areas with decentralised control, and clearly defined responsibilities and rules. • to design a layout that simplifies material flow and enable co-ordination. • to apply differentiated control principles • to replace or supplement centralised generation and collection of controlinformation by flow-orientated information. The design process involves analysis, design and implementation of a Control Model. An example from a Norwegian chair manufacturer illustrates the CM design principles.

Self-Configuring Socio-Technical Systems: Redesign at Runtime

Modern information systems are becoming more and more socio-technical systems, namely systems composed of human (social) agents and software (technical) systems operating together in a common environment. The structure of such systems has to evolve dynamically in response to the changes of the environment. When new requirements are introduced, when an actor leaves the system or when a new actor...

A Dissipative Integral Sliding Mode Control Redesign Method

This paper develops a new method of integral sliding mode control redesign for a class of perturbed nonlinear dissipative switched systems by modifying the dissipativity-based control law that was designed for the unperturbed systems. The nominal model is considered affine with matched and unmatched perturbations. The redesigned control law includes an integral sliding-based control signal such...

Assessing ICT Security Risks in Socio-Technical Systems (Dagstuhl Seminar 16461)

This report documents the program and the outcomes of Dagstuhl Seminar 16461 “Assessing ICT Security Risks in Socio-Technical Systems”. As we progress from classic mechanical or electrical production systems, over ICT systems, to socio-technical systems, risk assessment becomes increasingly complex and difficult. Risk assessment for traditional engineering systems assumes the systems to be dete...

Redesign of technical systems

The paper describes a systematic approach to support the redesign process. Redesign is the adaptation of a technical system in order to meet new specifications. The approach presented is based on techniques developed in model-based diagnosis research. The essence of the approach is to find the part of the system which causes the discrepancy between a formal specification of the system to be des...
